BRL MISSION STATEMENT

Beats, Rhymes and Life is clinically-based community organization rooted in Oakland, California that aims to promote mental health and wellness among youth and young adults by utilizing Hip Hop and other forms of popular culture.

ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS

1. ✦Provide youth development and preventative services to at-risk and under-served populations
   

2. ✦Promote health and wellness at the individual and systemic levels
   

3. ✦Reduce stigma around seeking and receiving mental health services
   

4. ✦Empowering young people to become agents of change in their community and beyond
   

5. ✦Foster self-worth, healthy relationships and healing communities
