F.R.E.S.H. is a joint-project  between Beats, Rhymes & Life and East Bay Asian Youth Center. Created in 2007 by a group of Oakland High students F.R.E.S.H., which stands for  For Real Expressions Start Here, creates a venue for youth to showcase their creative works, build community, become advocates for themselves, discuss critical issues effecting youth health and learn more about local programs and resources. In January 2010, the project received a two-year grant to use the F.R.E.S.H. site and program to improve the nutrition and physical activity environment and policies at Oakland High.
